Thank you's for every day things . . .

The following are notes that I typed on my phone and sent it straight to my email. . . I didn't want to forget it.

"K, so... I thought about making thank you notes for my teachers for teaching Sunday school each week they teach... Then I thought of what I've heard some people say... That it's their calling, their expected to, it's their duty, why make a big deal and thank someone for doing "status quo".

But then, the spirit was like, hey hunter, remember what I taught you not too long ago...

Not too long ago I was thinking about how we focus so much on how displeased the Lord is when we do the wrong thing. We need to realize more how pleased the Lord is when we do the right thing and how proud we make Him and how we honor Him when we do the right thing. Why do we tend to notice and punish bad behavior and only look at good behaviors as "well, that's just expected"...

That's not what the Lord does, nor is it how he operates. Parents do it with kids, people do it in relationships, and we do it in callings at church."

That was the end of my phone notes. But Why??? Why do we focus on noticing bad behavior and punishing it as apposed to catching people doing the right things and reinforcing it. It makes so much sense. This seems like something that I should have known or people in general should know, but I don't hear it discussed all that often. Anyway, I love when the the spirit brings things to your mind and help you link that principle with other things that you have learned and it brings "all things to your remembrance". Hmmm . . .
